Here we are over 10 years later and Rockstar still hasn’t given Grand Theft Auto III the update the game deserves. With the Definitive Edition patch we have fixed many bugs and also added some mods to restore exclusive features from console versions of the game, all this without any sacrifices.

Grand Theft Auto III: It all starts in Liberty City. With the freedom to go anywhere and jack anyone, the ruthless world of crime is at your fingertips, if you have enough guts to take it.

The patch has been updated and the following changes have been made:

  • Added “III Shadows”.
  • Added “III Passengers”.
  • Added “IIIBreakableWindshields”.
  • Replaced icons when playing with a gamepad. They are now displayed in HD quality and correspond to the buttons on XONE and PS4.
  • Added “d_hud_sniper_fix. cs” to correct the aiming position when using a sniper rifle.
  • Partially redesigned “hud.txd”. Now the radar map will not “climb” out of the circle, but will always strictly remain in it.
  • Rebuilt “particle.txd” – this should remove black bars instead of bullet shots, and also solve crashes on some PCs.
